You will notice that our consent form is specific as to the actual type of pet cremation service that we will provide. There is nothing in the “gray area”, or open to creative interpretation. We need this form reviewed and signed, prior to or at the time we take the companion animal into our care.
Although we do not accept “pre-need” payments, many people have chosen to meet with us and pre-plan for the aftercare needs of their companion animal. Some complete the consent form and take it home, some leave it with us, their veterinary clinic, kennel or pet sitter. It really does help when decisions are made and wishes are known at the time the need arises.
During their stay at Kindred Hearts, we chronicle your companion’s time in our care, everything from contacts made on behalf of the family, to where clippings or locks of hair were taken, which foot or feet were used for the remembrance print, transport, body storage, procedural and cremation information.
The companion’s cremated remains are returned in a dignified and personal manner, fine for long-term storage, earth friendly burial, easy scattering or transfer into another vessel. Should the family purchase a vessel or urn from us, from somewhere else or find that they already have something perfect, we will transfer the cremated remains whenever they are ready.
