About Kindred Hearts

my pet cat

Kindred Hearts came into being because of the wonderful impact companion animals have had in my life, the lives of family, friends, acquaintances and strangers.

They bring joy, comfort, laughter, unconditional love, amazement, (on occasion repair bills and challenges) and on their passing, a deep sense of loss and sorrow. They are members of our families and important parts of our lives.

I have experienced the loss of cherished companions. I've been in the position of not knowing what to do, what my choices were or what services were actually performed. The more I learned, the more I knew there had to be something better.

Before Kindred Hearts, I worked with people, usually in times of turmoil and trauma. My degrees are in Psychology and Communications. I have a lot of specialized training in loss, dealing with loss and the downside of human behaviors.

The best part of owning this business is knowing that when a family walks out our door, they are leaving with their companion's remains and only that. The hugs when I'm shopping, the honks and waves from former clients, the introductions to new four-legged family members, the cards and notes and thank-you's, all keep me going. It really comes down to knowing I've made a difference.

Pet owners do have options on what happens to the body of their companion animals. Some of our communities do allow home burial, there are disposal services and different types of pet cremation services available.

Locally, we even have a "green" burial preserve.

Kindred Hearts is another option, but we provide a very specific and unique service.

A "private" or "individual" pet cremation service through Kindred Hearts is an actual, single-body cremation, not just in terminology, but in procedure. The client we serve is the companion animal owner.

Our services are conducted with a sincere understanding that every animal that comes into our care made a precious impact on the lives and in the hearts of our clients. Kindred Hearts is a small company, dedicated to serving the pet owners of our communities.

Kindred Hearts

Our purpose is simple, we are here to help make a difficult time, a little easier.
